Remembrance

I have never been in the Services, don't personally know anyone killed in combat. The wars in my lifetime have always been far away. Remembrance Sunday has never had any real impact. Walking around taking pictures today came across a Cenotaph after the ceremony had finished. Reading the simple messages on the crosses it became obvious that it is not about war but about friends, relatives, husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, children, taken before their time. Impossible not to be touched by the sadness and pain of their loss.
